Going back.

Woke up this morning, still pretty curious. As far as I know you can store stuff in vehicles, I haven't really had a chance to actually bother with much else than a bicycle or an ATV.

I logged in again this morning and decided to pay the site a visit. And to my surprise, everything was still there! ... Sort of. Both bodies were missing and the UAZ or whatever they're called was moved. I'm not sure if it was just the server, or if I had come after the place had been picked apart after posting this thread. I know some people are opportunists out there!

Anyway. Heres some screens.

Still there, on the other side of the tracks and not flipped over.

Some of the goodies. This stuff is still all here. CA 24. Come and get it.

Again, not sure if this is the servers work, but the fence I had taken down was up again. Not sure if they set up again or not. The car still being loaded with gear kinda threw me off.

Either way. Quite the experience.

Back with a story to tell.

I think its about time I fire up that DayZ blog again...

Its 12:00 AM, I've slept pretty much all day due to this stupid flu I have and can't get back to sleep.

So the story goes like this. I log in to find out that a few things have happened:

1) The camp I had originally set up in the far west of Chernarus was compromised. Barbed wire was cut, tents looted and a couple of the bikes I had stored up were gone. Except for one.

2) A chunk of my perishable inventory was missing. I lost a bunch of M4 magazines, water, food and my Makarov magazines and bandages that were readily accessible. I had extras in my backpack, which seemed to have survived whatever happened with my inventory.

So, with that done, I figured I might as well do something silly and do some Cross Country Biking from one end of Chernarus to the other. Starting at the far west of the coastal highway, all the way to the northeast. At this time of night, not many people were playing, so going through both Chernogorsk and Elektrozavodsk was without any issue or conflict. So, beyond that point its just open highway, small towns and whatever else. Clear as can be aside from the hordes of zombies that catch notice for a moment.

Eventually I pass into the Krutoy region, which is where the highway and coast bends up to the north. I wasn't expecting much at all beyond this point, since players prefer to stick within, or between, or north of Cherno/Elektro. All I had in mind was just to get up to Berezino (Last city on the highway going north), Hide my bike and then log off. Mission accomplished, do something interesting tomorrow.

But nope. My luck had something completely different in mind.

Not too far along the road from the Krutoy bend is a small, industrial-esque town called Solichniy. Coming from the south, you pass through the town itself, then you start to go through the factories and docking area. At the very end of this are two bridges, One for a train and another for vehicles.

Approaching this, I noticed that the bridge had been blocked off entirely with Barbed wire. I didn't really think too much of this at the moment, as its not uncommon for other survivors to block off a bridge, or an entrance of a building just to be dicks. So I turned off to the train bridge and zipped on over. Or well, tried to at least. At the very end, they had put more barbed wire, almost underground due to a glitch in the terrain. The bike got stuck.

I hopped off the thing and went to take care of the barbed wire.

Until I heard an engine roar to life, and a military jeep wheel out behind a building and start hurdling towards me over the train bridge. I'll be honest with you, I don't think there has ever been a moment in this game that has ever had me go deerfaced at a computer screen. I stood up, backpeddled and started hammering rounds at the driver side window of the vehicle and stepped off to the side of the bridge.

The vehicle tried to ram me, but ended up deflecting off of the railing I had retreated behind. It continued on for about 10 meters before one guy ejected from the driver side. He was bleeding, I had apparently hit him in my initial spray of fire. Having plenty of rounds left in my rifles magazine, I proceeded to blast him with whatever was left inside of my gun. I reloaded, approached his fallen body and dumped more rounds into his face, and noticed the vehicle had started to rev up again.

I dumped more rounds into the vehicle as it tried to retreat, but whoever was driving now was probably panicking as much as I was and fired the vehicle off, full speed, along a raised railway. The vehicle lost its balance and flipped off onto its side and the new driver attempted to eject. The second he got back up, I once again dumped the entirety of my magazine into him and killed him.

At the end of it all. I was left with two dead bandits. Two less magazines. One fucked up jeep. A potential heart murmur and my Trusty Ringy Dingy Bicycle.

I love that fucking thing.

Once I had regained my bearings I hid in the ditch of the bridge for a few moments to see if anyone else was going to show their ugly face. Minutes passed and nothing, just quiet. So I figured I might as well test my luck and see what these fuckers were packing. The first guy I had killed had the same rifle as me, An M4a1 CCO. But he had only a few magazines which I took up.

The next guy over at the jeep had a bit more of a bounty. I was able to grab Nightvision, Radio and a couple makarov magazines. After checking both of them, I didn't bother to take the time to hide the bodies. I just buggered off, got on my bike and finished off what ended up to be the worlds most fucked up cross country bicycle ride.

I love this game.

S2, Day ???. I had a feeling.

Goooood morning Chernarus!

Now, I'm not exactly sure why, but I had a sudden crave in the middle of the night to give the day another go before I wrap up. And I guess that totally paid off as it turned out to be quite interesting. I logged my character in and was greeted by a bit of a Kodak moment... And rampant gunfire.

Good morning Chernarus! BANGBANGBANGBANGBANG OH GOD.
Yeah. I was tempted to log off then and there. But you know, rather than having a blog of "Hey, my name is Vintovka and I run away from pretty much everything." I figured it was about time to spice some things up and take the initiative. Besides, I ended up learning a few things along the way.

I took my time as I went through the forest, keeping an eye downhill, where the gunshots were coming from and whether I would be risking myself to being shot if I continued on. In retrospect pretty much anything in this game risks you getting shot. But hey, that's what makes this game an interesting experience.

I wasn't exactly too far away from the 800M rock either, and since the gunfire was coming from the apartments south of me, I would probably get a good chance of seeing whats going on. It didn't take long to get set up and break out the popcorn.

And when I say Popcorn, I actually mean a Sniper Rifle.

Yeah. First glimpse through the usual shot-spots I saw plenty of carnage. Two individuals slumped over dead on the factory roof and a couple dead, non-zombie corpses strewn in the streets. Gunfire was really picking up then. I broke out the binoculars and took a quick peek around, there were a band of survivors that were lightly armed. A few shotguns, pistols. Nothing really extravagant. But they seemed to be in trouble.

I did a quick scan over the area and had no trouble seeing an idiot running around with a machine gun and a ghillie suit. Its pretty safe to assume this guy is responsible for a large amount of the shots I've been hearing. That and he was blasting off rounds at the group I had spotted.

I figured I'd take this opportunity to deal with the fucker.

Welp, that was fun. But man, that guy could either take a lot of rounds, or this CZ550 rifle just really 'sucks'. It's probably because this is post-patch where a lot of the weapon damage values were decreased. But hey, I fucked him up enough to make him disappear into ALTF4 land. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to ditch the CZ and get that L85 going. Apparently its a hell of a killer in the game, and it'd be fun to see how well it works. And with that, I'll also be able to clear up a good deal of that backpack space I desperately need.

So, tomorrows plan goes as the following:

1.  Head North.
2.  Don't die.
3.  Find Stary Sobor.
4.  Don't die.
5.  Loot Military camp for mags and food.
6.  Don't die.
9.  Steal underpants
10. ???
11. Don't die.

Always Remember #9.
That should be it for tonight folks. Seeyou tomorrow.

(Also, note that in the video my 'Stats' seem to have reset. I had logged into a server earlier that seemed to have reset my character. I relogged on another and found that I still had my stuff, except for my stats. I figure I had logged into a Non-Hive server or something. I don't know. There goes my stats :(.)

S2, Day ???. Jackpot.

While a fun concept, the whole douchebag hunting gig wasn't turning out as well as I had hoped it to.

Ever since my buddy Soul took a bullet for the spirit of the idea I haven't really had that much luck finding more people to sink bullets into. Instead, people have been finding me. (Funny, Ain'it?)

I had an awfully close encounter yesterday. After sitting around waiting for the game to load. The second I started seeing my HUD interface all I could hear is gunfire. I was pretty much shitting my pants at this point. I'm thinking I had logged out crouched, or standing up. Because once I had 'vision' I could see some guy down the field sending rounds from a Makarov or something my way. I got hit a couple times, but I turned tail-end and headed the fuck out.

My 'Snipers perch' was pretty much at the edge of the forest that crests off a bit to the northwest. I was able to lose the bastard long enough to hide in a pine tree and bandage up. I continued to put distance between him and I that I could cover an area that he would possibly approach by. Luckily, nothing. I decided the former shooting position wasn't as concealing as I hoped it would be, and that it was time to move on.

I mean, in most cases I only really had a rock between myself and a large clearing.
Here's that clearing. And here is me running out in the open like an idiot.
While it does expose you a good deal, the hill and clearing offers probably the 'best' shooting position to nail any elevated positions within the city. Namely the factory, any of the apartment complexes, industrial structures and more. And more importantly, I find it to be the perfect location in terms of zeroing your scope. The rock that I favor is called the '800 meter' rock. Mainly because its approximately 800 meters between it, and the roof of the factory. If the sights are dialled right in, you won't have to worry about any deviances with the shot being too high, or too low.

Anyway. I needed a new position. While the forest I was in was dense, it still provided a few openings in which I could frame the factory roof and a few other locations. As I was wandering about, I came across something rather interesting. Two tents. Now, if there were anyone there protecting them, I would've had my head blown off long ago, so it was pretty much free pickings.

And what pickings they were.

While one tent was empty, the other had some rather interesting loot. I came out with Nightvision goggles, GPS, Rangefinder and more importantly, one of these.

An L95 AWS
Which lets you see

This.

The image is pretty dinky due to there being nothing other than a thumbnail for its display. But its basically an L85 rifle with a big fat honking Thermal/Night Vision scope on it. Which is pretty fucking bad ass. I dumped the shotgun with a flashlight on it and stowed that beauty away in my backpack for later fun, provided I survive long enough to actually get a chance to use it...

Anyway, I didn't want to chance the original owner returning with me stealing his shit. So I ran away giggling like a kid with a new power ranger action figure... Well, A power ranger that could kill people and zombies that is.

So, that'll conclude this post for the day. The next couple days should prove pretty interesting I think. I'm going to take the initiative and explore north some more. Seeing how waiting for someone to shoot off of a roof is getting pretty boring fast.

Tomorrow, we go north!

S2, Day ???, Payback

So, It's been a while.

Yeah, I've stopped tending to the blog for a few days. Mainly due to having a new 'objective' in mind, I just needed a few days to prepare for this very thing.

I'm certain anyone who plays this game and is reading this blog understands the frustrations of minding your own business, running along the outskirts of Cherno or Elektro, or anywhere for that matter, and suddenly watching your head burst in quite a gory display.

Its not really that fun, especially after having gathered a satisfactory loadout and supply from your endeavours prior to your misfortune.

So, with that being said. I figured I'd return the favour.

So, I've spent the past while gearing up. I've located a CZ550, plenty of supplies to 'Live off of the land' and a rather hefty supply of handgun ammunition for the in between.

My goal here is just to 'Exterminate' the assholes that linger up on a high vantage point, just to get the drops on newer players trying to get started in the game. It happens a lot, too much in fact. I figure if I take out a gunman every now and then, I could allow a starting player a bit of time to get some necessities safely without having to worry about a sniper.

However, while the good intentions are there. I'm operating purely on suspicion and interpretation. As I write this blog, I have only one kill tallied from this adventure thus far. Which has been quite the learning experience as he is my very first kill through a scope.

Here is a rather clumsy video for your enjoyment.

Best to hit the 'Youtube' button and view it in HD.

Yeah. Took an entire clip to off him. I should have taken the shot on his head at the start, I just wasn't sure if my Zero was spot on or not. Missing that first shot would've probably ended differently, and I probably would have lost the opportunity for the kill.

So, ammunition aside. 'Soul' was the first step in what will seem to be a very uncertain path. We'll see how this goes.

I'll keep you all updated, thanks for reading!

S1. Day 3, Jackpot, or... Not.

These days just keep on getting better and better. Really!

After yesterdays super mega funtime with that asshole shooting at me I was pretty reluctant to head out into the open again. I couldn't help but just wonder at what moment that person had spotted me. He must've been watching me for some time then, as he didn't make his first shot until I got out of the field of zombies.

Smart, really.

If you think about it. If he were to pop me amongst the lot. I would've been difficult to get to. He'd have to waste more bullets hammering the zombies away just to get at my supplies-bloated corpse. Too much effort for what could possibly be a slack result. Too bad he hadn't hit me that first time. I didn't hear the shot at first, I only heard the impact of it a short distance away from me, enough that I kind of shrugged it off as just a noise.

When I had been shot at closer to the pond moments after, the shots sounded really close. Had he ran up to me? Or had I been walking towards him the entire time?

So, thinking on that, I decided to do a bit of a recap on this map.

1. Where I had heard the impact of the first shot.
A. Approximate location of the gunman. He must have come from the town in the northeast.
2. Where I had stopped to look around and drink.
B. The location of where the gunman must have moved to.
3. Where I had been when the first 5 shots were made.

So, just thinking back on my actions I think I may have caught his attention with the rounds I fired off inside of Pogorevka. But with that in mind, he could have easily spotted me in the town and moved out to anticipate. Or come from the town up north. I don't know, all I know it was a pretty frightening experience.

With that out of my mind I decided to continue north and hope I might actually get something out of this little adventure of mine. I was now down to half of my blood count and my ammunition was dangerously low. I had 3 rounds left for my shotgun, my M1911 empty. I needed a new weapon and soon.

I headed North-east, passed through a town and a countryside house, and spotted what had looked like some sort of radio or satellite tower ahead of me. Upon heading towards it I had came across a pig. I shot it, gutted it and continued on. I mean, more food the better right? The tower ahead was a part of the town Stary Sobor I soon discovered, and conveniently enough, the area I entered the town through had a supermarket right there in front of me. I began to crawl being mindful of the zombies ahead and made my way to it. Unfortunately, the supermarket had little to nothing, however I was able to come out of it with a better backpack.

An Alice pack, apparently. Despite being much smaller than the former Czech one, it had more carrying capacity. Which is win-win if you ask me. I'd make much less of a lump in the ground were I trying to hide. I proceeded through the town though, I really needed supplies at this point. It turned out I was being a bit too desperate, or reckless even. I ended up catching the attention of a group of zombies, wasted the last of my shotgun shells and took a hefty beating by the lot. I remembered I had a hatchet in my inventory and dropped the shotgun for it.

A couple swings later the fuckers were dead, but I had lost a considerable amount of health during the scrap, I was also starting to bleed everywhere. I patched myself up right quick and decided to take things more slowly now. I was down to 4800 for my blood count, recovering that would either be a slow, tedious process. Or a gamble with a complete stranger. I started to navigate through the rest of the town until I had noticed a rather sizely structure ahead. It looked as if it were falling apart, but it looked accessible, which usually meant shit would be inside of it. There was also another structure to the left of it as well, I figured I'd take a looksie through it before going into the other.

After a brief search, I came out with yet another Winchester Lever Action and 45 rounds for it. But as I had taken my time inside that building, zombies had began to approach. I started picking one off after another thanks to the ammunition to spare, and proceeded to the tin building. There was nothing inside, but a ladder lead up to the walkways overhead. If I could get anything out of this place, it would be a chance to look around and plan my next move.

At first, I scanned over the town to see if I had any 'freinds' searching through the town as I had, so far nothing. And looking the other way, I had come across quite the beautiful sight.

A Military Camp.
This is something quite sought after. I went down the outside ladder of the building and zipped on over. The Lever Action rifle made short work of the military zombies surrounding the area and I went to work scrounging through each tent and shelter. I came across an 870 with a flashlight, and M16 with an M203, an M1024 semi automatic shotgun, A glock 17 with a flashlight. Multiple magazines and some minor medical supplies. I was in heaven! While there were a lot of guns, there were only a few I could take. I left with the Glock, M16 and the M1024, which stashed neatly in my new backpack. Loaded up and feeling much more confident about myself I headed right out again. I headed along to the edge of the town where a small body of water was.

Along the way to, I gave the weapon a test run, shooting zombies at a distance. Most of the shots were pretty much instant kills on the thing, but not always. I didn't really like that too much, but this thing was certainly better than anything I had prior to this. I refilled up, checked out the house next to it and had come across an Enfield rifle. Now, I've heard that they're loud, but these things reach out as far as can be, and are the next best thing to a sniper rifle without a scope. I dropped the m16 for it and was able to walk out with a couple clips for it as well. I think it was worth it. Besides, if things got real clammed up later on, I do have a Glock on me with a high capacity.

This was the point in which I decided to head back to the coast Chernarus. I was satisfied with the loot I had gathered and probably would have an easier time finding a new survivor that would be willing to help me out with my low blood count problem. Having found a compass a good while ago, I used that to  orient myself in the right direction and spent a good long while running through bush and field alike to get where I wanted to be.

As I crested a hilltop, I noticed what seemed to be a stone tower on a large hill ahead of me. Turned out to be an old keep of some sort. I passed through a small town to get to it, popping a few zombie skulls in the process and headed right on up. There were two shamblers in the area I simply ignored, and helped myself into the keep itself. It had a good deal of loot inside, another Enfield rifle and a Makarov in the upper floors and some rather useless supplies. I was intending on using the tower as a means to scan the area ahead of me anyway, so the effort wasn't that wasted in the end.

This is where things got real unfortunate in an interesting way. I hung around up there for a while, and as I came downstairs I noticed another survivor huddled up in the entrance floor! I wasn't sure what to do at this point, I had my rifle trained on him and called out. "Hey, I'm coming down the stairs, don't shoot."

Knowing my track record, although short, asking someone not to shoot would've been a real stupid thing to say, but I had my weapon trained on him. If he decided to try anything he'd get a .303 through the chest. He responded quite promptly and lowered his weapon, asking if I needed any food supplies. After a brief chat, he actually thanked me for not shooting him. It turns out he had a similar experience earlier on going through Stary Sobor. Apparently the place was chock-full of bandits at some point, and I had just come out of there with a great stash of weaponry.

This would be a good opportunity to make a friend and get healed up I thought. I asked him if he'd be willing to transfer blood if I provided, and he complied. But here is where things got real unfortunate. It turns out that main floor of that castle is where zombies spawn, or something. I don't understand how the game works but A zombie spawned right in front of me. I shot it, and it died, but one spawned right after and gave me a couple smacks, which were enough to knock my guy unconscious, and then simply kill him.

The other survivor tried to help, but it was way too late at this point.

So, it turns out this survivors story ends then, having made it through 3 days of dodging zombies and gunmen alike, but got killed by the simple coincidence of being at the wrong place at the right time. Whoever that other survivor is would be getting quite the stash of supplies in the end, and I'm happy for that. The guy didn't come off as a bag of dicks and the willingness to help was real refreshing to see after what I had been through. I just hope what I left would give him a few more days at least

Anyway. That's the conclusion for this characters chapter. I'll be starting up a new one soon enough! Hope you enjoyed this first one guys, there are many more to come yet.

S1. Day 2, A bit too careless.

If the first day was rewarding, the second so far has been turning out to be the opposite.

I crawled out of the bush I had been hiding in and immediately began to move along to those structures I targeted the day before. Going left from the trees, I had came across a service road that was heading in its direction. Growth had been placed along both sides of it, so I figured it would be a safer path to take than an open field. Almost immediately, I had spotted a zombie shambling up the road in my direction. Deciding it'd be a chance to see how well that rifle I picked up worked. I took a shot. The thing startled and ran a couple feet forward before falling down on the road, dead. There weren't any noises after that, so it was safe to assume I didn't have much other company lingering about.

The run up to the compound was so far uneventful. I had come across a highway that lead to Cherno and briefly did a binocular scan before crossing. Spotting a settlement down the road, I figured I'd head that way after clearing out these buildings before me. With that in mind, I headed up the hill, keeping low as to not attract any attention. The groaning and shambling through the tall grass was a telltale sign as to what lurked in the area ahead.

Drawing my M1911, the building I assumed to be a machine shop was actually a rather elongated stable for livestock. Inside there were little supplies. I had found some Pepsi, a couple bandages and some ammunition I couldn't use. The bandages I took, but the rest I didn't really care for. The raid from yesterday left me with a couple canteens of water I could refill, which are a bit more ideal to leave in my inventory than what I had discovered.

I went along the stable checking stalls to see if there was much else for supplies. As expected, there wasn't much else that would benefit me. As I approached the door at the end of the stable, a couple zombies lingered outside. The M1911 made short work of the lot as I proceeded to the few smaller buildings that remained in the compound. While the yield of loot was next to nothing, I was able to come out with a few bandages and a shiny new hunting knife for the inventory. Feeling I had wasted a bit too much on the place, I returned to where I had entered and headed towards that roadside settlement within the forest.

I kept within the treeline yet again. Stories of bored bandits looking for target practice had made me effectively more paranoid than I was to begin with. Every now and then I would pause next to a tree to scan an area ahead of me. Zombies seemed more or less an inconvenience to what other scum lurked around the place. Yet again, the trip to was uneventful.

The roadside settlement I approached was lightly 'populated'. A few shamblers hung out along the highway and a couple within the town itself. I kept to the right of the road and approached carefully. Or at least tried to. As I approached I caught the attention of a few runners and tried to take aim as they bounded towards me, firing off a couple rounds.

M1911's are great for their amazing stopping power. Generally getting a shot off on the torso will drop a Zombie or Survivor at close range. However, the magazine only holds seven rounds per. When you have some not-quite-dead monster hurling itself at you, you simply get an itch to pull that trigger until the fucker stops moving. In the case of multiple zombies that seven round capacity makes things very inconvenient. I dumped the magazines contents into two of them, and the third had caught me in the middle of a reload. After a round chambered, I finished off the last and recuperated for a moment. Well, until I noticed I was bleeding.

Bleeding sucks, I'll tell you that right now. The game gives you a hefty number of '12,000' for your blood count. This is the equivalent of a health bar for the game. But as you start taking damage that number really doesn't seem all that significant as each blow takes it down 1000 or more at a time. And if you're real lucky, you'll also begin to bleed. Bleeding out doesn't take much time to kill you once it starts. You'll hit the lower 1000's and begin to lose consciousness and eventually die.

I carry a lot of bandages, I try and keep my inventory full of them as I move from place to place. I'll get smacked by a zombie, bleed a bit, bandage up and be good to go. And if some asshole decides to blow my brains out, he'll have quite the smorgasbord of healing supplies at his disposal. Though I honestly have no intention on giving them out in such a manner.

Having patched up, I was lucky enough to discover one of the homes had a bandage and a few other things inside. I took those and decided to head on out, the settlement didn't have much for me and I had wasted too many bullets for the effort. I had only a couple magazines to start out with, and I left the settlement battered and left with a few rounds in that handguns magazine. Not really worth it in the end.

However, as I exited the place I was lucky enough to stumble across a pond. With water present, I drank a canteen and refilled it right after. Keeping hydrated is as important as anything else. Its just one other factor out there that will probably kill you should you neglect it. (I mean its just like real life, right? Right?)

Anyway. I continued down the road and noticed it starting to become dark. A quick glance up told me that it was starting to become overcast, potentially rain or a thunderstorm if I'm 'lucky'. Just what I need, another excuse to get a cold. With that potential threat literally looming overhead I picked up my pace down the road. Having looked on maps online of the Cherno area, there should be a pretty hefty town up along this road. While probably zombie infested, it would honestly be a better alternative than sitting out in the cold.
It didn't take long for me to come across that other town I expected. The first building I came across appeared to be some sort of electrical station, occupied by dozen or more zombies lingering about. Just as I was about to set out to investigate it, a fucking zombie had managed to sneak up on me.

I was startled and let off a round prematurely, I missed the fucker at first, but the follow up shot got him in the head. This wasn't good, chances are I've caught the attention of more zombies and things weren't going to be very pleasant in the moments to come. I quickly headed off to the building and gunned down a few more of them, keeping an eye out to the bunch that were still shambling out on the top of the hill. More ran, more got shot and the more I felt like I should really be turning around and getting the hell out of here. I was running low on ammunition at this point, most of my M1911 magazines were out. And I've gone through nearly all of the 15 rounds I had in the Winchester. Now pretty much defenceless I figured I might as well play my chances here and see if I could find anything in the building.

Well, looks like my luck turned out for the better. In both rooms of the building there were break-barrel shotguns. Which were honestly better than nothing at this point. I picked one up, thankfully loaded and blasted the last two zombies that pursued me. Having reloaded and settled into a corner, I eyed the doors for any further guests and found myself to be alone for now.

Close, way too close.

Turns out in the scramble I had gotten beaten up a bit, I was down to 7800 or so for my blood count and the colours of the screen were becoming more desaturated. I'll probably need to find, and trust another player with a blood pack sometime down the line if things got drastic, otherwise I'm potentially screwed. I gathered up what other supplies I could find in the building and headed on out. I figured this town would be a real bad idea to pick apart. Perhaps for another time.

Bad idea man, bad idea.

Like the other places before, I simply continued on, following the direction of the road in hopes for a more simple looting. Until I could source better weaponry, taking a group of zombies that large would prove to be too difficult to really bother with. I kept within the bush next to the road for now. The path lead uphill for a bit, leaving me with a view of the town I was just going to attempt.

Anyway, This post has been pretty drawn out so far so I'll summarize the rest right up until the good part. It didn't rain, I spent a good hour passing through yet another small town. Found a church, got nothing out of it. Found a townhouse, got nothing out of it. Got beat up by a couple zombies next to a farmhouse, wasted more ammunition. Then proceeded to crawl through a town infested by a horde of zombies. As I was exiting the last town, I wasn't really thinking at this point since its been relatively quiet for the past while, so I went out in open ground. I heard a dull thud, it was quiet, so I kind of just brushed it off for the games unnerving ambiance. Once I felt at a comfortable distance away from the town, I got up, then began to run ahead.

Hey look, my guy has glasses now!

Left of the road was a small pond in which I used to refill my water bottle, having eaten and drank a couple times up until this point. I stopped and simply watched for a bit since that noise had bothered me a little. Having seen, nor heard nothing. I figured it would be safe enough to get up and start moving. There was a forest nearby, and they've been my best bet for safety so far.

Until I started getting shot at.

Yeah. It was a pleasant jog until someone figured I looked like a succulent, vulnerable and rather exposed idiot... I counted 5 shots, and I'm going to assume whoever was after me had some sort of bolt action rifle. The CZ I think. Either way, that very moment I wasn't really concerned with what kind of gun was shooting at me, I just made like a coward and ran like a swerving idiot into the treeline. The guy popped more rounds at me, missing (thankfully) and I was able to put enough distance into that bush to find a nice place to hide.

I'll admit, I'm a coward. I took this opportunity to plant my sorry ass into a tree and log off. My heart was racing and this survivor of mine was way too young to die...

I mean fuck, I'm just on day two here.

So, that's all folks. Seeyou tomorrow.
